Born in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 22, 1979, Flavio Souza began studying keyboards at the age of 14 with private instructors. By the age of 16, he had transitioned to a self-directed approach to his musical education. At 18, he adopted the bass guitar as his second instrument, later adding guitar to his repertoire, establishing a career distinguished by versatility and mastery of multiple instruments.
His primary musical influences include Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Joe Satriani, and Sandro Haick. These artists helped shape a distinctive musical style that seamlessly blends instrumental music, pop, rock, and contemporary Christian music.
At the age of 19, Flavio began his professional career, performing with cover bands, at wedding ceremonies, corporate events, and live entertainment venues. From 2003 to 2007, he held a contract with the Estanplaza Hotels chain, performing Monday through Friday at happy hours and corporate events, an experience that solidified his reputation as a professional musician.
In 2002, he founded Studio Plano 7, a recording and music production studio that remains active today. Throughout his career, he has produced, recorded, and collaborated with numerous artists, including Anderson Dantas, Célia Soul, PG, Samuel Barbosa, Félix Silva, Jessik, Samuel Dativo, The Bridge Music, Rafhael Peres, Banda Patmus, and many other independent projects. His work has encompassed roles as a music producer, arranger, recording engineer, and multi-instrumentalist.
In April 2008, Flavio joined the band of Brazilian Christian artist PG as a keyboardist. He later also assumed the role of guitarist, demonstrating his versatility and ability to perform multiple roles within the same band.
During this period, he participated in the recording of the albums A Conquista, Imagem e Semelhança, Nova Vida, S.E.T.E., Música e Palavra (Acoustic), Eternidade, and Peregrino. For Música e Palavra (Acoustic), in addition to performing as an instrumentalist, he also served as the project’s music producer. He further contributed to DVD productions, music videos, nationwide tours, and hundreds of live performances throughout Brazil.
Even after relocating to the United States, Flavio maintained his artistic partnership with PG, continuing to record keyboard tracks remotely for the artist’s new projects. In June 2026, he performed all keyboard parts for the nine tracks of the album De Volta ao Começo, scheduled for release later that month, reaffirming a professional collaboration that has remained active for more than eighteen years.
In 2015, Flavio released his first instrumental album, Makarios, followed by several instrumental singles that further established his identity as a composer and multi-instrumentalist.
In 2018, he founded the band Sevenplan, where he serves as music producer, guitarist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger. The band has released the albums A Luz Que Veio ao Mundo and Voice of Life.
Also in 2018, Flavio launched the Flazie YouTube channel, dedicated to ambient music designed for relaxation, studying, restaurants, cafés, and other environments. The channel has accumulated millions of views, expanding his digital presence and introducing his music to audiences around the world.
In 2021, he produced several reggaeton singles for singer Jessik. These releases accumulated thousands of streams across digital platforms, particularly Spotify, marking a significant new chapter in the artist’s career.
In 2023, Flavio and Jessik launched a new gospel music project. In addition to producing the entire project, Flavio composed most of its songs, playing a central role in shaping its artistic identity.
The project received recognition within the international music industry. Jessik’s single “Livra-me de Mim” was included on the official list of works submitted for consideration by the Latin Grammy Awards, while Flavio Souza was also included on the official list of eligible producers in the Producer of the Year category.
The project also featured guest appearances by renowned Christian music artists, including PG, Dale Thompson, lead vocalist of the American band Bride, and Jean Carllos, keyboardist for the legendary Brazilian band Oficina G3, further expanding the project’s impact within the contemporary Christian music scene.
In 2026, Flavio began producing Jessik’s new album, Reality, continuing the artistic partnership they have developed over the past several years.
During the same period, he also began developing two new original projects. The first, OneManBand, explores live performances in which a single musician simultaneously performs multiple instruments using advanced technology and innovative performance techniques. The second, Human Made Jazz, is dedicated to creating instrumental ambient music that emphasizes human performance, creativity, and musical interpretation as the core elements of the artistic experience.
Over more than three decades dedicated to music, Flavio Souza has built a career defined by versatility and artistic excellence, serving as a music producer, composer, arranger, musical director, and multi-instrumentalist. His experience includes hundreds of recordings, music productions, nationwide tours, live performances, artist development, and projects that have earned both national and international recognition.
Now based in California, United States, Flavio continues to expand his artistic career through music production, remote recording sessions, instrumental projects, and the development of emerging artists, maintaining a professional path defined by technical excellence, creativity, and continuous innovation in music.
